How to Play the Keno Way Ticket

One great way to play Keno should include being able to cover the right amount of numbers on a single ticket. An option that is open for Keno players is to go for a way ticket. With a way ticket, players can cover more numbers on a single Keno ticket and have better chances of winning. Here's how to use a way ticket when you play Keno.

One reminder we have for all Keno players is that when you use a way ticket you are actually making more than one bet. You make wagers on the ways or groups of numbers you make on the way ticket. Thus the more ways you make in a way ticket then the more money you wager.

Now, there is as difference between betting on a way and betting on numbers on the Keno way ticket. To help you distinguish between the two we'll walk you through the whole process of using 12 numbers on a way ticket and making different ways on it.

In this example we'll be choosing 12 numbers in a single way ticket. The idea is to select a group of 12 numbers that are close together so we can make different ways a lot easier. One great way to make the most of 12 numbers in a Keno way ticket is to group your numbers into three groups consisting of four numbers for each group. Doing it in this manner will ensure that you make seven ways on your Keno way ticket.

The first thing you have to do is to mark all 12 numbers you intend to wager on. Then you divide your chosen numbers into three groups by circling four numbers that are close together. At first glance it would seem that you only have three groups or three ways but there are actually more.

Your first way is the bet on all the 12 numbers that you marked. The next ways is when you grouped four numbers (a.k.a. four-spot). Now that's a total of four ways but you still have three more. Your fifth way in this example of marking a Keno way ticket is combining your first and second four-spot ways. The sixth way is done by combining the second and the third four-spot ways. The seventh and final way on your Keno ticket is made by combining the first and third four-spot ways.

You then indicate your wagers by first marking your ways as 1/12 for all 12 numbers, 3/8 for the three eight spot ways, 3/4 for your three four spot ways. You then write your wager, for example you bet one dollar for each way then you write "$1/way" followed by the total of "$7" on the upper right hand corner of your Keno ticket. And that's how you use your Keno way ticket. You get better chances of winning by selecting more numbers on your Keno ticket.
