Playing Casino Lottery - How to Play Keno
Casino playing isn't just about blackjack, slots or baccarat. You can also gamble with numbers just as you do in state lottery. The lottery game played in casinos is known as "keno." Keno sprang from China where it was used by the government to fund its important projects, from small-scale wars to the Great Wall. The fact that keno generated so much revenue for the state says a lot about its popularity among the Chinese. People have always liked gambling with numbers regardless of their race.
How does keno playing work? First off, like other number games like lotto and bingo, the game is played in two phases. In the earlier phase, players like yourself choose the numbers you think are going to win. In the later phase, the casino draws the winning numbers one at a time and announces them to the players who check their tickets for matches.
In keno, you can pick from numbers 1-80 in each game. Usually you can pick up to 20 numbers since this is the maximum that the casino will draw. To wager on numbers you like, you must first buy a keno ticket (or as many as you like) which you can find everywhere in the casino. The casino's keno pay table will tell you how much you stand to win depending on how much you purchased, how many numbers you hit and how many numbers you wager on. The odds and payoffs are so arranged that no matter how few or how many numbers you pick, your chances of winning/losing are about the same. The casino always has the advantage.
The keno payoffs, cost per ticket, betting limits and other information are all contained in what is known as a keno brochure. Before you start playing keno, get one of these brochures at the casino or ask a casino employee for one.
There are different types of keno tickets. The simplest of these is the "straight ticket" which lets you bet on a single series of numbers (non-repeating). Avoid playing the other tickets until you are more experienced.
When you are done playing your ticket(s), go to the keno desk. Present your ticket(s) and bet(s). You will be given a copy of your ticket. Keep it as you will need it for checking numbers and claiming your prize.
During the draw, each number that is drawn will be announced. Keep checking your ticket for matches. If you have a winning combination, go over to the keno table immediately. You must claim your prize before the next keno game begins as the previous game's numbers and ticket copies will be discarded by then.
That is really all there is to playing keno. It is even easier to play keno online. You can either play this game full-time while in the casino or in-between other games when you are bored or tired or just want to have fun.
